Privacy Policy

In the light of the General Data Protection Regulations that become effective on 25th May 2018, we ask that if you would like to receive our email newsletters to be kept informed of our news, events and special offers then please do let us know. You can simply provide your email address on one of our pottery receipts when you next visit, or email us directly. You are of course free to unsubscribe any time, and information can also be found on our Facebook page.
This privacy policy sets out how we (‘the Pottery Project’) uses and protects any personal information you might provide during a call or visit to our pottery painting café, or via direct email contact or email contact via our website (thepotteryproject.net). We take care to keep your personal information safe, won’t sell it or share it with any third parties and won’t keep anything longer than necessary.

What information we collect

  • Contact details including telephone number, email address
  • Postal address (at customer’s request) 

How we use & store your details: 

Telephone Bookings
We require a contact telephone number from you at the time of booking in case there are any problems and we need to contact you. We never store your details electronically.

Written Receipts
After you have painted at the Pottery Project we issue you with a handwritten receipt so that you can collect your items. Again we require a telephone number to contact you in the event of any problems or delays with your pottery. Should you want to receive email newsletters from us regarding our services/events/news etc you can opt in by providing your email address on our written receipts. The email addresses you provide are stored electronically on our password protected computer. You can opt out of our email newsletters at any time, either by using the unsubscribe link on the newsletter or by contacting us directly. We do not store any telephone numbers electronically. Our copies of the handwritten receipts are securely stored for a maximum of 3 months following the collection of the pottery before being bulk-shredded or burned.

Emails
If you email us directly or via our website we will only communicate with you via that conversation thread which is stored on our password protected computer. We will not add your email address to any mailing lists or pass it on to any third parties without your prior permission.

Postal Addresses
On occasion we are asked to post our gift vouchers directly to the recipient or to post birthday party invitations to the party host; in this case we will request the recipient’s address details. This address information is not stored by us.

Membership
We consider joining our membership scheme as consent to send you emails related to our membership scheme and our email newsletters (as detailed on the membership joining form). You can opt out/unsubscribe at any time.
On the membership form there is the option for you to provide your date of birth; you don’t have to supply this information, however if you do we can email you a birthday treat).

Online Booking
Personal information including your name, contact number and email address is collected when making a booking.  This information assists with identifying you and contacting you regarding your booking or any requests.  We will not add your email address to any mailing lists or pass it on to any third parties without your prior permission.

Online Shop Orders
When you provide your email address and telephone number as part of the order/purchase process in our online shop we will only use these details to communicate with you regarding your order. We will not add your email address to any mailing lists or pass it on to any third parties without your prior permission.  The contact information you provide as part of the order/purchase process on our online shop is stored electronically on our password protected computer.

Newsletters, Facebook & Instagram
We only ever directly market our services/events/news etc. through these sources. You will only receive a newsletter or update from us if you have knowingly subscribed to them via our website, Facebook, Instagram or by providing your email address on our written receipts during a visit. You have the right to unsubscribe/unfollow at any time.

We can only use your personal data if we have a valid reason (or “lawful basis”) for doing so. The law defines a number of possible reasons, and those which are relevant to our use of your personal data are detailed below:
